Derek makes sense. Another way they do it is to get into the crew of a certain producer. Shawn Pelton is probably on more recordings than anyone at the moment. He's in Phil Ramone's crew along with the crew of a few other high profile producers.
According to knowledge Brooks is only in the rock session scene as is Kenny Aronoff.

To Tell the Truth: I still read MD despite what everyone says. I should get the Oct. 2005 issue right away.

I still read MD and have a subscription. I agree that there are some months with just total crap on the cover, but sometimes you get a real gem like Steve Jordan! It's true what Steve Holmes said about record companies buying front cover space with a certain drummer when new cd's are coming out. That's the way it works. I think it's the same way with Drum! magazine. I liked that magazine so much more back when they had more typo's (which I thought was totally unprofessional to have that crappy of an editor), but they had better lesson stuff when Stanton Moore was writing for them. I think Travis Barker is a good drummer too, but he has gone into the reality tv business, which just turns my stomach. I've picked up UK's Drummer magazine and didn't recognize 75% of the guys in there, which is fine since a lot of them were UK drummers and it's their mag. I do really like Rhythm magazine, but Barnes & Noble is too inconsistant to get it every month. I'd like to get a subscription, but don't know if I can afford to have it sent to the midwest and be worth it.

Just my opinions.

sailor- What's the deal with you resurrecting these threads from the dead? You should keep in better touch...are you searching for threads that have Shawn Pelton and/or Steve Hass in them? Some of these topics have been talked to death already...

I'd rather search and resurect then start new topics.

true, forums get really annoying when every member starts a thread that asks the same thing but in their own words or specific to their own situation where knowledge from other threads can be gathered and applied

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">I know that I have that nasty habit of resurrecting dead posts, but sometimes inquiring minds want to know. Other times, you have to put up with the fact that not everyone can use the PM feature (at their discretion, of course).

And, BTW, it's...just...Shawn.
